Au Revoir Cupcakes, Helllllo Macarons. Starbucks is Pioneering New Trend #boutdamntime

Cupcakes are so 2008 -- heck 2009 stretched out the craze. So I am grateful for Starbucks to launching their line of affordable macarons, made in France by Château Blanc.

Those of you who know me, know that I am obsessed by these light but not smooshy, sweet but not overtly sweet, luxurious rounds of pure. unfiltered. unadulterated goodness.

Macarons, are not dry. Macarons, should have a cookie to filling 1:1 or 2:1 ratio and by looking at these photos, I can already tell Starbucks' macarons are a fail.

But who cares, they have now paved the long over due kick-overpriced-oversugary cupcakes to the curb path.

And for that, I am so utterly grateful.
