rent to own,credit cards and payday loans especially are complete bullshit but sometimes you're stuck having to use one of them in a really messed up situation where actual cash is extremely scarce. if i had to pick one that sucked the least based on the scenarios in this blog it would be the credit card because you dont have to pay as much even though its already way too much and complete unreasonable and goes against any sense of logic

It's pretty sad (and scary) how not knowing your options can drain you...that's why the rich keep getting richer and the poor, poorer. :(

The first question I would ask is why you're $200 short on your rent in the first place? Some people are poor for no fault of their own. Other people are poor because they can't handle money. Everything mentioned in this post is abused more by the latter than by the former.
